Project Manager Unimeet

Unimeet Gothenburg aims to provide international students and internationally recruited staff the opportunity to discover Gothenburg, gain a positive impression of the city, its educational institutions, and the business sector, as well as to create a clear connection between studies and the labor market.

The project will communicate and promote Gothenburg as an attractive city for international students and internationally recruited staff through collaboration. Additionally, the project will work towards a clear profiling of Gothenburg as a city where there are various opportunities to connect with the business sector during studies and find pathways into the labor market. The project can also be seen as a recruitment tool for prospective international students and doctoral candidates if needed. Unimeet Gothenburg is a collaboration between the University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology, and the Business Group at Göteborg & Co.

Göteborg & Co is now seeking a substitute for the position of Project Manager Unimeet.

Responsibilities

The work primarily involves:

  • Leading and coordinating the project with both internal and external stakeholders (main sponsors, program group, steering group)
  • Steering the current project towards set goals, budget, and timelines
  • Creating and implementing activities and events that engage the target group
  • Managing the budget (overview, control, revenue, cost, and results)
  • Handling financiers and other partners
  • Ensuring communication, both internally and externally
  • Evaluation and follow-up
  • Managing purchases and procurement

Qualifications

You have relevant academic education (at least 3 years) and need to have at least 3 years of experience in leading projects in similar activities. Your project management experience should also include events with many interactions and broad collaboration. Furthermore, you need to have strong communication skills and can express yourself well in both Swedish and English. Your previous experiences should preferably include negotiations and procurement (LOU). You take responsibility, are used to independently driving your projects to completion, and have good administrative skills. To thrive in this role, you are comfortable balancing different demands and maintaining calm during more intense periods.

The position is a temporary contract starting in March 2026, or as soon as possible, lasting for 11-12 months. The position involves some evening work as well as evening and weekend jobs during implementation.
